Don’t Mess Up the Finish on Your Car
Washing your car is an important part of car maintenance, but a new study shows that hand washing your car will ruin it's finish.
Despite best intentions, home car wash methods used by DIY auto owners can cause long-term damage to their vehicle's paint. Research conducted by the Carwash Research Foundation of University Texas at Arlington found scratches as deep as 10% of a vehicle's entire coating thickness could result from hand washing your ride - making it look dull and lackluster over time. Professional car washes are recommended for optimal shine - saving you costly repairs in the future!
The University of Texas verified a decade-old study between Mercedes-Benz and the Technical University of Munich, Germany. Their experiment concluded that common car washing materials – like buckets, sponges and garden hoses with low water pressure – can cause serious damage to vehicles. So much for those DIY washes!
